SIG Charitable Foundation

The SIG Charitable Foundation was established in 1966 with the aim of supporting charitable projects and institutions and promoting cultural and educational causes. However, the foundation’s history dates back to 1853, when the Swiss Wagon Factory was established on the site in Neuhausen am Rheinfall – later renamed Swiss Industrial Company (SIG).

In October 2011, the SIG Charitable Foundation took over the industrial site at the Rhine Falls from SIG as part of a long-term commitment. As the owner of the site, it is fulfilling its responsibilities in the upcoming transformation process to create a new, attractive and vibrant neighbourhood, in line with the overarching purpose of the foundation.

SIG Gemeinnützige Stiftung

The SIG Areal am Rheinfall covers an area of around 120,000 m² directly adjacent to the Rhine Falls. The aim of the SIG Charitable Foundation is to further develop the historically grown industrial site in terms of construction and use, thereby creating a new, diverse mixed-use district in Neuhausen.
